This page explains which cookies and similar technologies are used on the MEYBot website. The policy is written with French rules, CNIL guidance and the GDPR in mind.
1. Cookies currently used
- necessary cookies — required for the basic operation of the site, its security and the storage of the user’s cookie choice;
- functional cookies — may be used if the user wants to use the built-in chatbot while keeping the conversation state across pages;
- marketing or advertising cookies — not used by default in the current website setup.
2. How user choice works
On the first visit, the site shows a banner with two equal options: keep only necessary cookies or allow functional cookies for the built-in chatbot. The choice is stored for up to 6 months and may then be requested again.
3. Why the chatbot is mentioned separately
If the user voluntarily opens the built-in chatbot, a technical or functional identifier may be needed to keep the service continuous. CNIL points out that a cookie used only to provide the chatbot service explicitly requested by the user may be considered strictly necessary. If cookies are used for other purposes, such as analytics or marketing, separate consent must be collected before activation.
